Evacuation of an AN-2 aircraft insured by Innovative Insurance Capital PJSC after a forced landing

On June 7, an AN-2 aircraft operated by the Antonov Central Flying Club (CAC), whose liability was insured by Innovative Insurance Capital PJSC, made an emergency landing at the state-owned enterprise’s pond.

 

The Nyvky fish farm near the Chaika airfield. The pilots made the decision to land on the water after an engine failure.

 

Unfortunately, during the landing, the plane flipped over (“scapotated”) and remained partially submerged in the center of the pond. The crew was evacuated by rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

 

The evacuation plan agreed with the insurer (in accordance with the requirements of aviation regulations) was successfully implemented with the participation of divers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, technical staff of the Antonov Central Aircraft Corporation, specialists and technicians of Auto-Dopomoga LLC.

 

No visible contamination of the pond used for breeding fry of the elite Nyvkyi carp and no leakage of fuel and lubricants was observed during the evacuation of the aircraft.
