On February 06, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics took place in Milan, in which 46 Ukrainian athletes are taking part. The process of obtaining Olympic licenses by our athletes lasted almost a year and required intense training, participation in international competitions and exposure to extreme winter sports conditions, which naturally increased the likelihood of injuries and illnesses.
“INNOVATION IN SURANCE CAPITAL is involved in providing insurance coverage to Ukrainian Olympians in case of need for medical care in case of injury or illness, both during participation in sports competitions and during training camps. During the year of qualification and preparation of athletes for participation in the 2026 Winter Olympics, INNOVATION INSURANCE CAPITAL provided insurance coverage to almost 1,300 participants in 200 sports events.
Sadly, there were some injuries, especially in the last months of the uncompromising struggle to qualify for the team.
The most traumatic was luge: insurance payments for injuries exceeded UAH 500 thousand, but this did not prevent the team from receiving a record 10 quota places for Ukraine at the 2026 Olympics. The cost of medical care for insured freestyle events reached almost UAH 200 thousand. Each case was quickly settled and paid by the insurance company. However, no insured events were recorded during the biathlon competitions and the team also won 10 quota places (5 men and 5 women).
“INNOVATIVE INSURANCE CAPITAL has been consistently providing insurance coverage to both professional and amateur athletes for a long time, which allows athletes to focus on sports results and be confident in the availability of guaranteed financial support for timely and high-quality medical care.
“INNOVATION INSURANCE CAPITAL” wishes all Ukrainian Olympians successful performances, decent results and further victories!
